Parcel time!

I got a PARCEL today! I love getting parcels. Even if the contents are rather mundane, there is nothing better than getting an exciting parcel to open!

I had my Glorious Face and Eye Primer on back order, and it arrived today. Neatly nestled in purple tissue paper, I opened it to reveal some super duper cute packaging. I really thought the box was amazing! I've saved it to put in the special bag that Gee gave me <3

I've approached a super sweet friend who is an illustrator about logos and such for this blog et al. Can't wait! She's so clever, I'm sure she'll come up with something amazing!

 In the meantime, I've finally got a "new" phone (aka, my dear heart gave me his old phone when he upgraded - much better than my battered old S4!) which means better video/photo capabilities, and in conjunction with the cool ring light and tripod adaptor, I'm good to go! I'm already super pleased with how my photos turned out, and I haven't edited them or anything yet!

This afternoon I videoed myself doing my face, hoping to make a nice video ^_^ I'm no expert, but I would love to share makeup love with everyone! It's taken an age to upload, and I'm hoping to do one a week (that's my aim!) so keep your eyes peeled! <3

Since having the new phone, I finally managed to get Pic Collage installed. Blinking love the thing! Gee said I would - and she was right! Plenty of cute backgrounds and stickers, and it's so easy to use. Total win.

Well, I suppose I better get on with this video editing! Speak soon!

Try Out Time! Nyx liquid lipsticks

Love them! Well pigmented, easy to apply, soooo soft, and I love the colours. I prefer the feel of the Soft Matte Lip Creams over the Liquid Suedes, but only just!

The Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes will get a lot of use, and I think Amsterdam is a super happy red lip to have around! Stone Fox is certainly not a shade I would usually pick, but I think it looks pretty "arty" in the pictures.

NYX has hit Boots!!

I feel like I've been waiting SO LONG for this to happen!!! Nyx finally has a counter at the big Boots in town! SO EXCITE! I tried to have a look this afternoon, but it was bombed out, so instead I just went for the products I knew I wanted. I'll have a proper long browse another day!

I went for three Liquid Suedes, and three Soft Matte Lip Creams, a felt tip eyeliner, and a matt fixing spray.

Obviously! Did some swatches! First three are the Soft Matte Lip Creams, the last three are the Liquid Suedes <3 Can't wait to try them out properly! Try Out Time coming very soon!

Nail Time - Model's Own Diamond Luxe

I really like this polish - it's SUPER shiny and sparkly! This one is Heart Red and is a really bold, bright red and full of glittery bits. The brush is great and really helps the polish go on smoothly and evenly, and the formula itself is quite thin and liquid, so goes on well.

The colour is extremely bright - make sure that you use a base coat! It stains your nails somewhat, and is much harder to cover up because it's so bright! I usually use Nails Inc Kensington Caviar base coat, but I keep seeing peel-off base coats online and they seem like a fantastic idea!

I topped this with my Nails Inc Kensington Caviar 45 Second Top Coat. This is definitely the most durable one I have tried so far, plus it's super glossy and dries quickly.

Try Out Time - Younique Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation

I have been looking for a better foundation for a while now. I stopped wearing make up when I got very ill in late 2015, but for the last couple of months, I have been wearing make up once more! I love it, I missed it, but now I'm in a much better place and have the energy and inclination to do it properly. 

The last foundation I bought was Boots No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in Calico. The colour was ok, but I didn't like the feel of it at all, and found that by about 2pm it had started to separate and get quite patchy. It was very heavy on my face - you could really feel that you were wearing foundation. However, my sister loves it! So we did a little trade - she gave me the No7 Airbrush Away foundation (also in Calico) for my bottle of Beautifully Matte. 

I definitely liked the Airbrush Away more, but if you wanted to up the coverage it didn't quite cut it. I always found that by lunch time it had disappeared from my nose and chin, but it was definitely more comfortable than the Beautifully Matte.

The lovely Gee, a Facebook friend, very kindly sent me some samples of her Younique products to try. I will be honest, I was skeptical to start with! These products seem to get the hard sell all the time, all over social media. That really puts me off, but Gee sent me three samples; Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation, Glorious Face and Eye Primer, and BB Flawless Complexion Enhancer. 

Here's the look that I did with the primer and liquid foundation.

I love the foundation - I tried it with and without the primer, and it goes on easily if you have primer or not on. It sets quickly, blends well, and the coverage is nice and variable. The best part is that the shade Scarlet is a perfect match for me! That literally never happens! I'm so freaking pale, it's nigh on impossible to find a perfect match that suits my sensitive skin. 

Needless to say, I will be placing an order for some of the foundation. There is a deal on a kit at the moment, so you get the brush free when you buy foundation, concealer and primer. It's £79.00 which is way more than I would usually spend on beauty products, but a little goes a long way, and this should last me quite a while!
